Dir. Mitch Abshere and Madison Dyer, 2010
Rip Shred Tear is the newest surfing DVD from Mitch Abshere. Made with a gritty “in your basement” punk vibe “RipShredTear” is a decent attempt at making something fun. From the high performance surfing of Alex Knost, Scotty Stopnik, Pickle, JJ Wessels, Andrew Doheny, Tyler Hatzikian, Robin Kegel, and more, to the old school pool skating footage too of Duane Peters and others “RipShredTear” puts some energy back into surf films. Is it the best surfing? No. It is the best filming or editing? No. Will it make you want to grab a board and surf? Yup, and with the cut ins from old monster movies, weird little skits and a get-up-and-go pumping soundtrack “RipShredTear” is something to add to the wall.
So if you like longboarding, shortboarding, skating or just fun surf flicks “RipShredTear” will keep you entertained.
