Dir. Jack Johnson, 2000
How did the first surf film I ever buy get this far into the reviews?
This film, sometimes considered a followup to Chris Malloy and Jack Johnson's "Thicker Than Water" it made it to Surfing Magazines "The Greatest 25 Surf Movies of All Time" in their November 2007 issue.
I picked this flick up while getting a new CI Flyer from Cinnamon Rainbows up in New Hampshire. It kept me frothing until the summer when I could be back at the beach.
Shot with 16mm film, it captures Slater, Machado, Gerlach, Dorian, Egan and Williams as they take a surf trip for the pure fun of it. Not jerseys, no contests. For them "the waves were as a good as waves get." The colors and scenery in this film are amazing and the surfing it top tier as well. I must have for any surf film collection.
Here you will find reviews of Surf Films, Climbing Films, and others, and maybe even a movie from "Hollywood."Got any suggestions send through Twitter, Facebook or the Contact Page.
