To kick off 2011, a couple days early, Stranded Dog is launching the new look. Local graphic designer Abby Ytzen worked hard to give the dog a personality of its own. Super pumped about the finished product. Check out her other work at her website abbyytzen.com

[scattered flurries] from felt soul media on Vimeo. Shot in Telluride, Colorado in 2009 | Panasonic HVX, color tweaked with Magic Bullet via FCP. Filmed and edited by Ben Knight | Original music by Palmer Taylor www.blackdoveaudio.com | additional footage by Travis Rummel So amytetreault.com posted this video on her blog that she may have temporarily borrowed from love-and-squalor.tumblr.com with out first snowfall sticking today I felt it might be a great little ending to the day for you guys out there. Makes the winter seem nicer and even maybe a little friendlier.
Due to the lack of sleep the past couple of days some strange things are happening in around the Doghouse... Painting, collages, music, even engraving (check above) Who knows what is going to happen next stayed tuned BIG things might be in store.
This is a wave breaking head high, in like 6 inches to a foot of water. It was as tall as me and I was standing like 40 feet away trying to figure out if they were catch-able. They are not, you would be blowing sand out your nose for days. But the possibility of getting an awesome wave always make the downside look less dark. So for today I stay dry. But there is always tomorrow, or Thursday.
I just finished watching the "Grain to Glass" episode of "Brewmasters." I love beer and surfing, let's see if their concoction makes it to the shelves. I missed their event in July up in Portland, ME. However, I have decided to re-prioritize my life and not let work get in the way. Life is about loving what you do, not to say I want to waste my day drinking or surfing, neither of which is really that bad. But like all things they must be done in moderation. So with the surf blown out today and work in a couple of hours I will focus on work. And hopefully catch some waves and some pints tomorow.
Doc Lausch from Surf RX came out with the "USO" (above) a couple of years and it gained my interest when I watched Donovan ride it in a video that I cant seem to find tonight. It seems like he has made another finless wonder the "Manray."(below) With all the talk of alaia's and fins and what not it seems that Doc has been doing a little bit more thinking outside of the box. Between Doc's boards and Tom Wegener's Seaglass Project the Tuna Model, it looks like no fins and some shaped foam might be just as fun. And a little more crazy looking.
This board has been on my design radar for a couple of years now. With the cold short days of winter coming up rather quickly surfboard design and movie watching help make the dark nights move by faster. With alot of things happening in the Doghouse there might be a new board to come out over the winter, hopefully something creative. So surf the waves by day, the web by night and get creative, because when the warm weather and water come again you want to be ready to Check this little video out. and go make something fun.

In case the embedded video doesn't work I have always had this kind of admiration for Grain. They make beautiful boards in Maine. Here is the latest video of their shop.
