This past weekend was Stand Up Paddle Surfari's first annual Boston Tea Paddle. Consisting of a series of races, relays and good times this event helped bring SUP to attention in Beantown. With races from the East Coast and as far away as Oregon there were exciting moments and some wind... Lot's of wind. Paddlers were in fine form with Dani Schmidt winning the women's 5 mile Elite and the 9-mile run, Dan Gavere from scored first in the 5 and second in the 9 trading places with Will Rich who scored second in the 5 and first in the 9, both on 14 foot boards. Patrick Brommel took first in the 12'6" class with John O'Hara taking second (also took third in the 9) and Werner's own Danny Mongno taking third.
Christian and the lads and ladies from Surfari put on a good event to showcase the sport. Next year it can only get better.
